But Lana's determined to prove that she belongs...even if it means trading her stilettos for snow boots and tracking one of the town's hairiest Christmas mysteries: the Santa Moose, an antlered Grinch hell-bent on destroying every bit of holiday cheer (and tinsel) it can sink its teeth into. And really...how hard could it be?The last few years have been tough on Rick Harding, and it's not getting any easier now that his dream girl's back in town. When Lana accidentally tranquilizes him instead of the Santa Moose, it's clear she needs help, fast...and this could be his chance to finally catch her eye. It's an all-out Christmas war, but if they can nab that darn moose before it destroys the town, Rick and Lana might finally find a place where they both belong...together.Readers are falling in love with The Tourist Attraction:"Utterly charming—a delightful debut."—LAUREN LAYNE, New York Times bestselling author of the Central Park Pact series"An enchanting romcom debut! Book Mistletoe and Mr. Right (Moose Springs, Alaska Book 2) Review :

3.5 StarsMistletoe and Mr. Right is the second book in the Moose Springs series. It’s a slow burn, opposites attract, clean romance.I enjoyed this story. I really like this authors writing style. Her characters are great, well developed.Them vs Us. Residents vs Wealthy Tourists. This town has a big problem. They hate the rich tourists who invade their town, but they can’t survive with the influx of their money. Some have caved and cater to them, others actively try to keep them away.Lana and Rick don’t have much in common, except their mutual love for this small Alaska town.Rick is the shy, almost introverted pool hall owner. He’s divorced, living with his now adult nephew Diego who we met in the last book. He’s doing his best to survive and keep his business open. He’s kept to himself after his wife left him. Spending most of his time at work or home with his grumpy cat, and his little fashionista hedgehog. He’s silently had a crush on the beautiful, wealthy Lana since he first saw her.Lana is a powerhouse. Vibrant, confident and very much in control of each situation she faces. (At least from the outside) She is the moneymaker, the backbone of her family’s business empire. Inside she’s lonely. Tired of the travel, tired of dealing with her family. Tired of always having to be “A Montgomery”. She’s had her eye on Rick, but never acted on it. But she loves this small town. She’s going to do everything she can to save it. Even if it means buying up most of it.Overall a good story written with lots of humor. I loved the witty banter between the characters. Rick and Lanas night at the B and B was hilarious.I loved catching up with the characters we met in the first book. What I struggled with was the connection between these two people. There is a lot of flirting, a lot of internal dialogue about what they want to do the other one, I just didn’t feel an emotional connection between them. The other thing was the length. It was really long. It really slowed down in parts, dragged a bit.And she left the situation with her cousin hanging. Why bring it up and then not finish it? Frustrating. It’s a clean read, no sex, a little swearing. Some minor drama and angst.Dual points of view.No cheating. They do end up together in the end.It can standalone.I’ll continue to read the series. I’ve preordered the next book. Easton’s story.
I do feel bad reviewing this with such a low rating, but I was waiting for this book all year, and was cozying up to read it during the holidays, but it left me feeling...cold.It definitely wasn't as enjoyable for me as the first in the series, and I was hoping for some fireworks, but I found myself getting bored. I did love the premise of the story. I loved the idea of big rich business mogul, Lana, and small town sexy pub owner, Rick, being attracted to each other, but I felt like it was too easy. Like they fell into each other's arms too easily, too quickly. She was coming on a little too strong for me. There wasn't enough...cat and mouse, but they kind of just went straight for it, and then there wasn't much conflict. Sure, at one point, there was like that one incident, but it was way towards the end of the book and it lasted only a few pages.Remember, this is a big book. And for them to get together so quickly, it kind of doesn't leave much to get excited about. And there's that whole silliness about finding the "Christmas" moose or something. That storyline was barely explored, and it was meant to be the crux of the story! I mean, it was how they sold it to you, by putting it in the synopsis! And Lana has a really annoying way of speaking like an old old lady. All that "dear" and "dearest" talk. Ugh. I hate it.I think it was just way too long with way too many unnecessary details. I definitely enjoyed the first part more, and found the romance more believable than Lana and Rick's. I couldn't buy into Lana and Rick not being able to live without each other. Disappointing.
